Vivien Hillgrove, Consulting Editor, experienced as picture and sound
editor for 25 years. Vivien's numerous documentary credits include Senorita
Extraviada, First Person Plural, The Devil Never Sleeps, Tell
Me A Riddle, Corpus: A Home Movie For Selena and Broken Rainbow,
1985 Academy Award, Best Feature Documentary. Among her feature film credits are Henry
and June, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Blue Velvet and sound
editor for Amadeus, 1984 Academy Award, Best Picture. Vivien is a reunited
birthmother.
Witt Monts, Cinematographer, shot the stills for the film. His
credits include Rabbit In The Moon, 1999 Sundance co-winner for documentary
cinematography; Tell The Truth and Run: George Seldes and The American Press,
1997 Academy Award nominee; KPFA: On The Air, P.O.V. Series 2000; and Wallace
Stegner: A Writer's Life.
Mary Watkins, Composer, since 1972, Mary has received many fellowships
and commissions for her musical compositions including National Endowment for the Arts
Grant 1981 and California Arts Council Artist in Residence 1991/92. Her original
scores for documentaries include Ethnic Notions, Emmy Award 1986 and the Oscar
nominated documentaries Freedom On My Mind, Complaints Of A Dutiful Daughter
and Straight From The Heart, 1994. Mary is a reunited adoptee.

Adoption Advisory Council
Janine Baer, MA, reunited adoptee and author of Growing in
the Dark. Janine is founder/editor of Chain of Life, a feminist adoption
reform and child welfare newsletter. For many years, Janine was editor of the
newsletter for Post Adoption Center for Education & Research, a San Francisco Bay Area
adoption support network.
Annette Baran, MSW, adoption consultant, public speaker and co-author of
the landmark book, The Adoption Triangle: Sealed or Open Records: How they affect
adoptees, birthparents and adoptive parents, 1978; and, Lethal Secrets,
1990, about donor insemination.
Stephanie Gleason, Chinese American reunited adoptee and birthmother of a
daughter. Stephanie opened a closed adoption when her daughter was a minor. She has
a good relationship with her daughter and her daughters adoptive parents.
Joan Thornton, RScP, reunited birthmother. Joan has been
facilitating an adoption triangle support group for the past eight years and is an
activist for California adult adoptee civil rights.
Reuben Pannor, MSW, adoption consultant, public speaker and co-author of
the landmark book, The Adoption Triangle: Sealed or Open Records: How they affect
adoptees, birthparents and adoptive parents, 1978; and, Lethal Secrets,
1990, on donor insemination.
Rickie Solinger, PhD, historian, feminist and author. Her books
include: Wake Up Little Susie: Single Pregnancy and Race Before Roe v. Wade, 1992
and Beggars and Choosers: Motherhood is Not a Class Privilege in America,
2001. Adoption is not part of Rickie's personal experience. She provides an
"outsider's" perspective.
Nancy Verrier, MA, adoptive and biological mother. Nancy is a
therapist, international lecturer and author of The Primal Wound: Understanding the
Adopted Child, 1993; Coming Home to Self, 2003.
Written feedback from adoption triad members, adoption professionals and the general
public at work-in-progress screenings at adoption conferences and support groups around
the country have also played an important part in developing the story line of the film.
